About this colour

With its colour value of #F3EFE3, Chalk reads as a light, slightly creamy neutral rather than a sharp white. It lifts a room well, but the warmth in the shade stops it from feeling stark, so it can make walls feel calm and open without losing softness. In north-facing light it will look more muted and a little paler, with the cream tone becoming quieter. In south-facing rooms it appears warmer and fuller, sitting comfortably beside natural wood, painted joinery, linen shades and upholstery in stone, taupe, sage or muted blue. In Acrylic Eggshell, Elite Emulsion or True Matt, it stays restrained and balanced across walls and woodwork.

How to use it

Chalk suits sitting rooms, halls and bedrooms where you want a light background that still feels lived-in. It works well with pale oak, walnut-stained woodwork and upholstery in oatmeal, camel, dusty green or soft charcoal.

A warm off-white like Chalk brings a room up gently without looking cold.
