Shetland

2026 Paint PaintZOP1127-35

Shetland is a pared-back grey blue with a cool, settled feel. In Zoffany’s 2026 Paint range, it reads as a calm, mid-tone colour that sits neatly between blue and grey.

About this colour

This shade has a muted blue base with enough grey in it to stop it feeling fresh or coastal, so it comes across as measured and elegant on the wall. In north-facing light, Shetland will lean cooler and slightly steelier, with the grey note becoming more visible. In south-facing rooms it softens and brightens a little, keeping its blue character without becoming sugary or bright. It pairs well with chalky whites, pale oak, smoked woods and deep navy, and it gives a clean backdrop to patterned upholstery in indigo, charcoal or softened green.

How to use it

Use Shetland in a living room, study or bedroom where you want a quiet colour that still has presence. It works especially well beside walnut or oak woodwork and with upholstery in linen, navy velvet or muted botanical patterns.

On a wall, Shetland reads as a cool grey blue that stays calm rather than crisp.

Order it with the cloth

A pot comes off the same order as the fabric, so the wall and the chair in front of it are chosen together. The making is ours: cut, sewn and fitted in our own Heybridge workshop, with Simon over every stage.

Pairs well with

Shetland is a wall colour, so these are the cloths that sit against it: one of them on the curtains, the paint behind. Mixed across the houses we hold, which is the part a single supplier's book cannot do.
