About this colour

This shade reads as a warm, muted beige with a gentle creaminess from the #DFD0B3 value, so it lifts a room without turning chalky or pale. In north-facing light it can look a little deeper and more subdued, with the warmth held close to the wall; in south-facing light it opens out and shows more of its soft sandy character. It works well beside natural oak, walnut and limed woods, and it gives a steady backdrop to upholstered pieces in tan, camel, stone and muted green. In Acrylic Eggshell it suits woodwork and joinery, while Elite Emulsion and True Matt give the same colour a quieter, more enveloping wall finish.

How to use it

Sandstone is a good choice for sitting rooms, hallways and bedrooms where you want warmth without heaviness. It pairs neatly with timber furniture, neutral upholstery and curtain fabrics in flax, oatmeal, olive or soft terracotta.
