About this fabric

This Colefax and Fowler fabric has a small-scale repeating motif with a crisp, almost herringbone-like rhythm that gives the surface gentle movement. The Old Blue colourway is muted rather than bright, mixing dusty blue with warm neutral threads so the pattern feels fresh but settled. At approximately 142cm wide and composed of 47% cotton, 27% viscose, 21% polyester and 5% linen, it has the versatility to work across both upholstery and drapery applications. The texture in the swatch looks neatly woven and fairly refined, with the pale ground stopping the blue from becoming too heavy. Its repeat of about V 5cm / H 12cm means the design will register clearly on larger pieces while still feeling restrained.

How to use it

Use this colourway on a compact armchair, footstool or relaxed curtains where the soft blue can lift a neutral scheme. It pairs especially well with chalky whites, aged oak and brushed brass for a tailored, quietly classic room.

Its muted blue-and-neutral weave works well on tailored seating or elegant curtains.

Paint that goes with it

Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
