Colombe Bleu de Chine

Marsan FabricM4123-02

A graceful floral vine unfurls across an ivory ground, drawn in soft china blue, sage and pale gold. The overall effect is airy and refined, with the pattern reading clearly but never feeling heavy.

About this fabric

Colombe Bleu de Chine is a textile from the Marsan collection by Manuel Canovas, woven in a 68% Linen, 24% Viscose, 8% Polyester composition and offered at approximately 128cm wide. The repeat is approximately V 78cm / H 128cm, which suits the broad, trailing rhythm of the design. In this colourway, the leaves and scrolling stems are rendered in fresh blue tones with gentle green and taupe accents, all set against a warm ivory ground that keeps the motif light. The fabric has the look of a versatile decorative cloth rather than a dense upholstery velvet, making it well suited to curtains, blinds or relaxed upholstered pieces. Fire code √BM and care code Q 8 + T 3 are supplied for this exact fabric.

How to use it

Use it where you want pattern without darkness: a drawing room curtain, a bed valance or occasional chair in a pale, bookish interior. The cool china blue works especially well with oak, off-white paint and softly weathered brass.

Pair with pale timber, chalk white and washed linen for a fresh, elegant room.

Paint that goes with it

Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
