Imari Terracotta

Marsan FabricM4116-02

Imari Terracotta shows a lively printed design scattered across a soft ivory linen ground, with terracotta-red panels, plum accents and muted gold details. The pattern feels bright and decorative, but the linen base keeps it looking natural rather than overly glossy.

About this fabric

This colourway of Marsan by Manuel Canovas is woven in 100% linen and supplied at an approximate width of 132cm, with a vertical repeat of 90cm in a half-drop layout and a horizontal repeat of 132cm approx. The fabric has a dry, slightly textured linen handle visible in the image, which suits the crisp edges of the printed motifs. Imari Terracotta reads as a warm, sunbaked red-orange rather than a deep brick tone, balanced by raspberry plum, olive-gold and pale blush details. The ivory background gives the design room to breathe, so the larger scattered motifs stay clear and readable across the cloth.

How to use it

Use this terracotta colourway where you want pattern with warmth: it works well on occasional chairs, cushions or relaxed curtains against oak, walnut or painted off-white walls. The earthy red ground notes will bring life to neutral schemes without overpowering them.

Pair with natural linens and warm woods to let the terracotta motifs stand out on the ivory ground.

Pairs well with

A pattern needs somewhere for the eye to rest, so these are the plains and textures that sit beside Imari Terracotta without fighting it. Mixed across the houses we hold, which is the part a single supplier's book cannot do.

Paint that goes with it

Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
