About this fabric

Tobago Bleu de Chine from the Palto collection by Manuel Canovas is a fabric with a repeat of approximately V 20cm and H 18cm, and a width of about 140cm. Woven in 55% polyester and 45% viscose, it has a crisp, defined surface that helps the tiny motif read clearly across the cloth. In this colourway, the pattern sits in deep inky blue against a pale neutral ground, so the overall effect is cool, graphic, and slightly maritime rather than bright. The close-packed repeat creates movement from a distance, but the restrained two-tone palette keeps it easy to layer with painted woods, linen, or darker upholstery pieces. Care code Q 8 < T 3 and fire code K are supplied for this fabric.

How to use it

Use this colourway on a tailored armchair, bench, or cushions where the dark blue pattern can punctuate a calmer room. It also works well in a scheme with chalky whites, taupe, or weathered oak to let the blue-ground contrast stand out.

A compact, versatile print that adds depth without overwhelming a room.

Paint that goes with it

Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
