Burford Weave Red/Blue

Burford Weaves FabricBF11035.7

Burford Weave Red/Blue has a finely grained, closely woven surface where subdued red and blue threads combine into a softly mottled small-scale check. Its overall impression is cool, dusky and quietly colourful rather than bright.

About this fabric

This 140 cm (55") fabric is woven from 48% viscose, 26% linen, 20% cotton and 6% polyester, giving the surface a subtle mix of soft texture and fine structure. The tiny red-blue repeat measures 1 cm vertically and 1.5 cm horizontally, creating a restrained grid that reads almost like a peppered textile from a distance. With a 25,000 Martindale rub test, it is specified for curtains, loose upholstery, fixed upholstery and bedspreads. It must not be washed, bleached or ironed, and requires professional dry cleaning.

How to use it

Use this dusky red and blue colourway on a compact armchair, tailored headboard or relaxed Roman blind, pairing it with warm grey, faded denim and aged timber. Its small, even weave also works well as a coordinating fabric where a room needs colour without a large motif.

The muted red-blue ground brings understated colour to tailored upholstery, curtains and layered bedroom schemes.

Paint that goes with it

Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
