Vintage Velvet Oyster

Vintage Velvets VelvetBF10700.106

Vintage Velvet Oyster has a softly clouded surface in a pale, warm oyster beige. Its subtle tonal variation gives the plain velvet depth, while the nap catches the light with a gentle, understated sheen.

About this fabric

This velvet is woven from 95% polyester and 5% viscose and measures 137 cm (53.82 inches) wide. The image shows a softly mottled oyster ground, with faint cream and biscuit-like tonal shifts rather than a defined motif. Its plush surface reads as quietly luxurious, balancing the lightness of the colour with visible depth in the nap. With a 50,000 Martindale rub test, it is specified for curtains, loose upholstery, fixed upholstery and bedspreads. Care is professional dry cleaning only; do not wash, bleach or iron.

How to use it

Use this warm oyster colour to soften a classic sofa or headboard without introducing a strong pattern, or let it fall as full curtains where its pale nap can pick up changing daylight. Pair it with chalky creams, natural wood and muted taupe for a calm, layered scheme.

Paint that goes with it

Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
