About this fabric

From the Modena collection by J Brown, this plain fabric is made from 100% polyester and specified for contract use, with an 80,000 Martindale rating for hard-working interiors. It is supplied back coated to Cigarette & Match to BS5852, and other fire treatments are available upon request. The swatch itself reads as a dark wine red with burgundy and oxblood shifts, catching the light in fine specks that soften the overall tone. Its close, velvety-looking texture gives it a refined finish that feels substantial enough for seating while still offering a neat, uniform appearance. Care is flexible too, with professional dry clean in situ or washing at 40°C, subject to the pattern book instructions.

How to use it

Use this colour on statement chairs, banquettes, or stools where the deep red can bring warmth without looking bright. It pairs well with dark timber, brass, and earthy neutrals for a tailored, low-sheen scheme.
