About this fabric

Part of the Modena collection by J Brown, this plain fabric is made from 100% polyester and specified for contract use, with an impressive 80,000 Martindale rating. The swatch shows a muted violet base softened by brown-grey and beige highlights, creating a dusty, tonal surface rather than a bright purple. Its visibly textural, lightly speckled appearance gives the colourway extra warmth and movement, making it feel more sophisticated than flat or primary purple. After care is professional dry clean in situ or washable at 40°C, and it is supplied back coated to Cigarette & Match to BS5852, with other treatments available on request.

How to use it

This restrained violet works well on a statement chair, banquette or ottoman where the colour can read as elegant rather than bold. Pair it with warm neutrals, smoked oak and soft metallic accents to echo the fabric’s taupe-lit undertones.

Use for tailored upholstery schemes where the muted violet tone can add depth without overpowering.
