About this fabric

The surface shows a fine, irregular grain rather than a distinct printed motif, creating a subtly mottled finish across the taupe ground. Putty is a warm, earthy neutral, sitting between beige and brown while retaining a softened grey cast in the image. Light catches the fine texture unevenly, so the colour reads as quietly dimensional rather than flat. The restrained pattern scale makes this an understated choice for upholstery where a tonal surface is preferred over a bold design.

How to use it

Pair Grain Putty with chalky creams, warm oak and aged brass for a softly layered room, or contrast its muted taupe tone with deep olive and charcoal.

Use this softly textured putty taupe to bring quiet warmth and tonal depth to upholstered seating.

Paint that goes with it

Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
