Bibi Fabric

About this fabric

The repeating pattern centres on large diamond-shaped medallions filled with scrolling stems, small leaves and stylised floral forms, separated by irregular cream and chestnut motifs. Warm ochre edging adds depth to the red-brown colourway, while the cream areas keep the overall design light enough to read clearly. Printed in 100% linen at approximately 137cm wide, it is suitable for curtains and fixed upholstery and is graded for general domestic use. Allow 3% shrinkage; care is by delicate wash at 30°C or dry cleaning.

How to use it

Use Kala Chestnut for full-length curtains where its warm red-brown ground can create a cosy, layered backdrop, or on a traditionally shaped chair against natural timber and cream upholstery. Pick up the ochre detail with brass, aged gold or warm neutral accents.

Use the warm chestnut, cream and ochre palette to bring decorative character to curtains, occasional seating or fixed upholstery.

Pairs well with

A pattern needs somewhere for the eye to rest, so these are the plains and textures that sit beside Kala Chestnut without fighting it. Mixed across the houses we hold, which is the part a single supplier's book cannot do.

Paint that goes with it

Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
