About this fabric

Woven in a balanced blend of 30% Cotton, 25% Viscose, 15% Linen and 30% Wool, this colourway has the tactile, slightly slubbed look of a natural-fibre fabric without appearing rough. The 137cm width and plain design make it straightforward for curtains, loose covers and both fixed and loose upholstery schemes, while the 40,000 Martindale rub test supports contract and general domestic use. French Blue is muted rather than bright, with a cool grey undertone that softens the weave and keeps the overall effect understated. It is dry clean and stain resistant, and carries an A FR rating conforming to BS5852 Part 1 Source 0 and 1.

How to use it

Use this shade on a sofa or bench where you want a crisp, restrained blue that won’t feel overly nautical. It also works well as curtains in rooms with warm timber or pale plaster finishes, where the cool tone can settle the palette.

A calm blue-grey tone that works neatly across upholstered and windowed pieces.

Paint that goes with it

Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
