About this fabric
This plain velvet has the dense, even nap and subtle sheen you would expect from an upholstery-grade cloth, giving the surface a clean, luxurious depth. In this Prussian colourway, the blue is cool and moody rather than bright, with darker shadowing that makes the pile look especially plush. The fabric is supplied at 137cm wide and is suitable for curtains, loose cover upholstery and fixed upholstery, with a robust 100,000 Martindale rub test and contract/general domestic use rating. Its composition of 60% polyester, 28% recycled polyester, 8% acrylic and 4% viscose supports the fabric’s soft handle and practical performance, while the BS5852 Part 1 Source 0 and 1 flame rating adds reassurance for furnishing schemes.
How to use it
Use Prussian on a sofa, ottoman or dining chairs where the dark blue can anchor a room without feeling harsh. It also makes a striking curtain colour in schemes with walnut, brass, ivory or pale grey.
A rich, dark blue velvet that feels tailored and works beautifully on statement seating or elegant curtains.
