Brunswick Slate

Archive IV The Collector Fabrics FabricMOF0078-06

Brunswick Slate has a dense, finely textured surface where cool slate grey meets softened taupe and warm beige. The close-up reveals a subtle broken chevron effect rather than a printed motif, giving the colourway quiet depth.

About this fabric

This substantial woven fabric weighs 710gsm and has a compact construction of 18 threads per centimetre, making it particularly well suited to upholstery. The surface shifts between charcoal, grey-taupe and small warm beige flecks as the light catches the fine zigzag weave. With a 140cm usable width, a 35m standard length and a 0cm vertical and horizontal pattern repeat, it offers straightforward cutting for tailored applications. Brunswick Slate reads as a restrained, cool-leaning neutral with enough tonal variation to avoid looking flat.

How to use it

Use Brunswick Slate on a structured armchair, sofa or dining seat where its muted slate-taupe tone can balance pale oak, smoked timber and warm stone. Pair it with soft ivory or dusty blue accents to bring out the cooler grey threads without losing the weave’s earthy warmth.

Its dense slate-taupe weave suits tailored upholstery, from occasional chairs to contemporary sofas.

Paint that goes with it

Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
