Brunswick Soot has a dense, finely scaled herringbone weave in a deep soot-toned brown charcoal. Its closely packed zigzag structure gives the surface a quietly textured, tailored appearance.

About this fabric
The near-black brown ground is softened by lighter taupe-brown threads, creating a restrained two-tone effect as the weave catches the light. Fine chevron rows run continuously across the cloth, with no vertical or horizontal pattern repeat. At 710gsm and 18 threads per cm, this is a substantial woven fabric with the visual density suited to upholstery. The usable width is 140cm and the standard length is 35m.
How to use it
Pair Brunswick Soot with warm timber, aged brass and softly contrasting oatmeal or stone textiles to prevent its deep charcoal-brown tone from feeling flat. It is especially effective on tailored sofas, dining chairs and structured occasional pieces.
Use this dense, dark herringbone to add tailored depth to sofas, dining chairs and occasional upholstery.

A pattern needs somewhere for the eye to rest, so these are the plains and textures that sit beside Brunswick Soot without fighting it. Mixed across the houses we hold, which is the part a single supplier's book cannot do.

Paint that goes with it
Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
