Trent Woad Blue

Emery Walker`s House Fabric Collection FabricMOF0187-03

Trent Woad Blue sets Morris & Co.'s dense botanical artwork against a cool, muted blue ground. Cream foliage, pale flowers and softly dusty blush accents create a richly layered but gently faded appearance.

About this fabric

The woad-blue background has a calm, slightly greyed depth, allowing the cream leaves and curling stems to remain clearly legible across the cloth. Repeated flower heads introduce subdued blush and terracotta notes, while the tightly interlaced foliage gives the surface a tapestry-like visual richness. The 265 gsm weight and 35.6 threads per cm make this a versatile mid-weight fabric for both upholstery and drapery. It has a 140 cm usable width, a 106 cm vertical repeat and a 70.5 cm horizontal repeat, with a standard length of 60 m.

How to use it

Use Trent Woad Blue on full-length curtains where its cool ground can soften warm timber and cream walls, or upholster a reading chair to bring its intricate botanical pattern close to view. Pair the woad tone with chalky neutrals, aged brass and muted rose accents rather than bright primary colours.

Use this cool woad-blue botanical for curtains, occasional upholstery or a statement chair, balancing its dense pattern with quiet neutral plains.

Paint that goes with it

Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
