Rothesay blue

Wilderness Fabricrothesa/fa1/duc

Rothesay Blue shows the Wilderness design in a soft, watery blue-green palette with creamy drawn details and a painterly, nature-led feel. The large botanical and bird motifs read clearly across the cloth, giving the fabric a fresh but gently muted character.

About this fabric

Woven in 95% cotton and 5% linen, this 230gsm fabric has enough substance for soft furnishings while still feeling at home as curtains or blinds. The visible surface has a natural, lightly textured finish that suits the relaxed, hand-painted look of the design. Rothesay Blue combines pale aqua, sea-glass teal and soft chalk white, so the pattern feels cool and airy rather than dark or saturated. With a horizontal repeat of 46cm and a vertical repeat of 50cm, the sweeping foliage and bird motifs have room to unfold across the width of the cloth. Dry clean only, with cool iron if needed.

How to use it

Use it in a light-filled room with whitewashed wood, linen sofas and brushed nickel accents for a calm, coastal look. The soft blue tone also works well against warm stone or muted sage to deepen the botanical feel.

Pair with pale timber and chalky neutrals to let the painterly detail breathe.

Paint that goes with it

Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
