About this colour

This shade reads warm rather than cool, with enough grey in it to stop the beige from feeling sweet or yellow. Its #C9C1AE value gives it a mid-light presence that lifts a room without brightening it sharply, so it feels steady rather than airy. In north-facing light it can look more stone-grey and restrained, while in south-facing rooms the warmer base comes forward and the colour feels softer and more inviting. It works well beside oak, walnut and painted joinery, and it holds its own against natural linens, taupe upholstery and deeper brown or olive tones. In Acrylic Eggshell, Elite Emulsion or True Matt, it keeps that same quiet balance for walls or woodwork.

How to use it

Stone suits sitting rooms, hallways and bedrooms where a calm neutral is wanted without going stark. It pairs particularly well with pale oak furniture, darker stained woodwork and upholstery in flax, mushroom, sage or warm charcoal.
