Lustre Antiquary

Plains 1 The Alchemy of Colour FabricZOF0052-17

Lustre Antiquary is a soft charcoal-grey plain weave with a finely pebbled surface and a quiet, reflective depth. Its close texture gives the colour a gently heathered appearance rather than a flat, uniform finish.

About this fabric

Viewed closely, this colourway combines charcoal grey with subtle lighter flecks, creating a cool, softly mottled tone across the cloth. The compact micro-weave is even and finely textured, while the surface catches the light with a restrained lustre. It has a usable width of 135 cm and 67 threads per cm, making the dense construction particularly well suited to upholstery. With a 0 cm vertical and horizontal pattern repeat, the plain surface can be cut without motif matching.

How to use it

Use Lustre Antiquary on a structured armchair, sofa or dining seat where its charcoal tone can anchor warmer timber, aged metal and softly coloured textiles. Its slight sheen also works well with layered grey, taupe and muted blue schemes without becoming stark.

A dense charcoal-grey weave with a restrained lustre, suited to tailored upholstery and quietly layered interiors.

Paint that goes with it

Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
