Baxter Charcoal

Bampton FabricF4886-01

Baxter Charcoal is a softly patterned fabric with a cool, mineral feel and a finely speckled surface. The small-scale motif reads quietly across the cloth, giving the colourway a tailored, understated look.

About this fabric

This colourway combines a gentle charcoal-grey motif with a lighter ground, so the overall effect is muted rather than stark. The tiny, irregular pattern has a relaxed, almost pebble-like rhythm that softens the sharper edge of the grey. Woven in a 59% viscose, 25% linen, 11% cotton, 3% acrylic and 2% polyester composition, it has the body and character of a decorative furnishing fabric. With a width of approx. 142cm and a repeat of V 18cm / H 23cm approx, it is well suited to considered projects where the pattern needs to sit neatly across a surface. The Q 8 + T 3 care code and √BM fire code should be checked against your project requirements.

How to use it

Use this charcoal tone to bring quiet contrast to pale walls, natural timber and brushed metal details. It works particularly well where you want a smart pattern that feels restrained rather than busy.

A refined small-scale spot works well on tailored upholstery or relaxed curtains.

Pairs well with

A pattern needs somewhere for the eye to rest, so these are the plains and textures that sit beside Baxter Charcoal without fighting it. Mixed across the houses we hold, which is the part a single supplier's book cannot do.

Paint that goes with it

Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
