Baxter Blue

Bampton FabricF4886-03

Baxter Blue in Bampton is a softly faded blue-grey colourway patterned with a fine, all-over animal-style spot. The small-scale motif sits quietly on the surface, giving the fabric a textured, slightly weathered look.

About this fabric

Bampton Baxter Blue is woven in a 142cm width and composed of 59% viscose, 25% linen, 11% cotton, 3% acrylic and 2% polyester. The finish reads as a pale, cool blue-grey ground with denser grey-blue markings that create a gently peppered, almost stonewashed effect. Its repeat measures approximately V 18cm / H 23cm, so the pattern has enough movement to feel relaxed without becoming busy. With no performance finish noted, it is best chosen for decorative schemes where the soft colour and fine-scale pattern can be appreciated.

How to use it

Use Baxter Blue where you want a calm, airy note rather than a strong colour statement; its muted tone works well with chalk whites, pale oak and brushed metal. It is especially appealing on cushions, occasional chairs or elegant curtains that benefit from a quiet, textured pattern.

A muted blue-grey ground with tiny speckled animal spots gives this design an easy, understated lift.

Paint that goes with it

Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
