Poplar Taupe

Essential Weaves Vol 1 FabricEWV1POPLAR

Poplar Taupe has a softly weathered look, with the pattern sitting gently across a pale taupe ground. The surface reads textured and light-catching, rather than bold or heavily contrasted.

About this fabric

Woven in 100% polyester, this Ashley Wilde fabric is specified for drapes only and has a generous 140cm width. Its 24cm vertical and horizontal repeat supports the softly layered floral-botanical effect visible in the cloth, while the 357gsm weight gives it a substantial, upholstered feel even though it is intended for window dressing. The colourway is a muted pale taupe with warm-grey undertones, and the pattern appears almost tonal, so the texture is more prominent than the motif. With no rub test noted and a country of origin of India, it is a practical decorative choice where a calm, refined finish is wanted.

How to use it

Use Poplar Taupe for full-length curtains, relaxed Roman blinds or layered sheers in schemes with putty, stone and natural oak. Its soft taupe tone suits quiet bedrooms and formal living rooms alike, especially where a textured, low-contrast fabric is needed.

A quietly textured taupe that works well for elegant, layered window treatments.

Pairs well with

A pattern needs somewhere for the eye to rest, so these are the plains and textures that sit beside Poplar Taupe without fighting it. Mixed across the houses we hold, which is the part a single supplier's book cannot do.

Paint that goes with it

Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
