Herbaria Obsidian

Herbaria Fabric

Herbaria Obsidian places large, softly painted flowers against a deep charcoal-black ground. Ivory petals, cool grey blooms and subdued olive leaves create a richly shadowed, atmospheric colourway.

About this fabric

The design is an abundant floral arrangement, with oversized pale blossoms layered over dark foliage and occasional warm ochre-brown and orange flower centres. Its charcoal ground gives the colourway a cool, inky depth, while the ivory flowers provide strong contrast without making the overall impression stark. The image shows a softly textured, painterly surface with blurred edges that give the repeat a moving, organic quality. No composition, width, usage or rub-test specification has been supplied for this exact fabric.

How to use it

Use Herbaria Obsidian where its dark ground can anchor a room—on a statement chair, sofa, or full-length drapery—then echo the ivory petals with chalky upholstery or pale stone accessories. Olive and muted ochre accents will draw out the quieter colours within the floral artwork.

Paint that goes with it

Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
