About this fabric

At 418gsm, Rowland Heather has the substantial handle expected of a hardwearing upholstery cloth, while its fine woven texture keeps the surface composed rather than bulky. The mauve-taupe shade reads cool and restrained, with tiny shifts between grey, brown and plum visible across the weave. It is supplied at a 143cm usable width, giving useful coverage for upholstery work. The design has a 0cm vertical repeat and a small 3cm horizontal repeat, consistent with the swatch’s almost plain appearance.

How to use it

Use this cool, dusty mauve-taupe on a sofa, headboard or occasional chair where it can soften deeper brown, charcoal or plum furnishings without becoming brightly colourful. Pair it with brushed metal, pale timber and low-contrast textiles to draw out the swatch’s quiet heathered texture.

A substantial, finely textured woven in a softly muted mauve-taupe tone for upholstered seating and case goods.

Paint that goes with it

Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
