Patina Ebony is a deep, near-black woven fabric animated by fine ivory lines crossing in an irregular, distressed grid. Its dense surface shifts between dark matte areas and lighter thread highlights as the light moves across it.

About this fabric

The ebony ground gives this colourway a cool, architectural depth, while the pale crosshatch lines soften the darkness without making the design feel bright. The closely packed vertical and horizontal marks create a lively woven texture rather than a single flat block of black. At 536gsm, it has a substantial presence suited to upholstery. It is supplied at a 138cm usable width, with a 35cm vertical and horizontal pattern repeat and a 40m standard length.

How to use it

Use Patina Ebony on a statement armchair, sofa or ottoman where its black ground can anchor a room. Pair the ivory tracery with warm wood, stone and softly coloured plains to balance its graphic, high-contrast surface.

Use this substantial ebony weave to bring graphic contrast and tactile depth to upholstered seating.

Paint that goes with it

Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
