Portland Ebony

Edgeworth FabricCCF0571-02

Portland Ebony gives the Edgeworth collection a striking monochrome character, pairing deep ebony-black bands with a softly warm ivory ground. The vertical stripes have subtly irregular edges that prevent the design from looking overly mechanical.

About this fabric

The swatch sets deep ebony-black vertical bands against an ivory background, creating a crisp, graphic contrast with a slightly softened hand-drawn feel. Its close textile surface has a restrained, lightly textured appearance rather than a glossy finish. At 301 gsm and 140 cm usable width, it is a substantial mid-weight fabric suited to both upholstery and drapery. The specification gives the design a 0 cm vertical repeat and a 9.5 cm horizontal repeat, allowing the stripe arrangement to be planned across the width without a lengthwise pattern match.

How to use it

Use Portland Ebony on a statement armchair, bench or tailored curtain where its cool, high-contrast stripe can sharpen an otherwise calm room. Pair it with ivory upholstery or deep charcoal accents to echo the two-tone palette without competing with the vertical rhythm.

Use the high-contrast ebony and ivory stripe to bring graphic definition to upholstery, curtains or blinds.

Paint that goes with it

Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
