Blakewater Indigo

Blakewater FabricJ881F-04

Blakewater Indigo pairs a cool indigo medallion pattern with a pale ivory ground, giving the fabric a fresh, softly traditional feel. The ornate motif reads clearly but without harsh contrast, so the design feels decorative rather than dense.

About this fabric

This Jane Churchill fabric is woven in 82% viscose and 18% linen, with an approximate width of 136cm and a vertical repeat of 30cm and horizontal repeat of 34cm. In this colourway, the damask-style motif is rendered in softened indigo blues with fine pale detailing, sitting on a light ivory background that brightens the whole design. The surface has the gentle, slightly slubby look you expect from a viscose-and-linen blend, which gives the print a calm matte finish. It is a versatile textile for curtains, blinds, cushions or light upholstery, and the √BM fire code is supplied for this fabric.

How to use it

The cool blue pattern works well with white-painted joinery, pale oak and linen textures, where its crisp tone can stay airy. For a richer scheme, pair it with deeper navy or muted brass accents to bring out the indigo outline.

Use with chalky woods and warm neutrals to keep the indigo motif feeling crisp rather than heavy.

Paint that goes with it

Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
