About this fabric

This Chilgrove fabric from Colefax and Fowler is woven in a cotton, linen, viscose and polyester blend, giving the surface a natural mattity with a lightly refined finish. The design shows a large repeat, with flowing scalloped outlines framing pendant floral sprays across a warm ivory ground. In this colourway, the reds read as coral-terracotta rather than blue-based crimson, while the greens stay soft and herbaceous, which keeps the pattern airy. At approximately 128cm wide with a vertical repeat of 76cm, it suits statement curtains, decorative upholstery and matching soft furnishings where the pattern can be properly shown.

How to use it

Use Alvita Red/Green to add warmth to a neutral sitting room, especially with timber, rattan or painted cabinetry. Its creamy ground and softened green accents also work well in a country house scheme with linen, stone and aged brass.

Use in elegant rooms where the warm red motifs can sit against painted woodwork or soft neutrals.

Paint that goes with it

Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
