Wabi Clay

Kochi FabricL9425-02

Wabi Clay is a softly grounded beige with a warm clay undertone, shown here in a fine plain weave that reads calm and natural. Its surface has the subtle slub and linen character visible in the swatch, giving the colour a lived-in softness rather than a flat finish.

About this fabric

This colourway sits between sand and putty, with a muted clay warmth that feels lighter than terracotta and less cool than grey-beige. The weave is understated and even, letting the tone do most of the work while the fine texture adds a gentle irregularity across the surface. Made in a composition of 53% Linen, 19% Cotton, 16% Viscose, 8% Polyamide and 4% Acrylic, it has the natural look of linen with a little extra stability in the mix. The fabric is approximately 140cm wide, has no repeat, and is finished with care code Q 8 + W 3 and fire code √BM.

How to use it

Use Wabi Clay on tailored upholstery, relaxed cushions or simple drapery where you want a soft earthy neutral without heaviness. It pairs especially well with pale oak, chalky whites and bronzed accents, because the colour has enough warmth to soften crisp interiors.

A quietly textured neutral that sits easily with timber, stone and softened metallics.

Paint that goes with it

Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
