Lucena Old Blue

Sandford FabricF4894-03

Lucena Old Blue shows a tightly woven, small-scale texture with a soft blue-grey cast softened by cream and taupe flecks. The overall effect is calm and quietly tailored rather than bright or coastal.

About this fabric

This Sandford fabric from Colefax and Fowler is a woven textile with a repeat of approximately V 12cm / H 7cm and a width of approximately 138cm. The composition combines 42% viscose, 20% polyester, 17% cotton, 17% linen and 4% polyamide, giving the surface a neatly structured but softly handled look. In this colourway, the blue reads as a muted old blue with greyed depth, broken up by pale neutral threads that create a lightly dappled, almost chalky finish. The small-scale weave gives the cloth a brisk, refined texture that feels more tailored than decorative.

How to use it

Use Lucena Old Blue on an upholstered chair, ottoman or banquette where its cool, subdued tone can sit alongside oak, stone and ivory. It also suits lined curtains or roman blinds when you want a calm blue accent without a strong saturated colour.

A restrained blue-grey weave that works well with natural woods and pale neutrals.

Paint that goes with it

Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
