About this fabric

Babylon FR Smoke from Porter & Stone’s Shimmer FR collection is a 140cm-wide fabric in 95% polyester and 5% lurex, giving the surface a faint sheen against its deeper matte background. The 24cm vertical repeat builds a layered, elongated abstract pattern that feels rhythmic rather than busy. In this colourway, the brown and taupe tones sit on the cooler, smoke-filled side of neutral, with the metallic yarn catching the light just enough to lift the surface. It is a smart, textural option with enough body and visual interest for either upholstery or drapery, subject to the NQT1< care instructions.

How to use it

Its smoky brown palette works well with walnut, bronze and warm stone, especially where you want pattern without a strong colour statement. Use it on a sofa, occasional chair or curtains to add depth and a subtle shimmer to a quietly layered room.

Use it for tailored upholstery or structured curtains when you want a dark, textural neutral with a subtle shimmer.
