About this fabric

This colourway of Babylon FR from Porter & Stone’s Shimmer FR collection reads as a deep taupe-grey with graphite shading and a faint metallic glint from the 5% lurex content. The repeated pattern has a medium-scale, faceted rhythm that feels structured without becoming heavy, and the 24cm vertical repeat helps emphasise its directional flow. Woven in 95% polyester and 5% lurex, it has a practical fabric handle with a dressed-up finish that suits schemes needing depth and a touch of sheen. At 140cm wide, it is a versatile textile for statement upholstery or smart curtains where the light can pick up the shimmer.

How to use it

Use it on a chair or ottoman against plaster, stone or dark timber to bring out the graphite depth. It also works well as drapery in a room with warm metals, where the subtle shimmer reads more clearly in daylight.
