About this fabric

The close-up shows an almost black charcoal ground enlivened by tiny grey fibres, creating subtle tonal depth rather than a printed motif. Its dense, tactile surface is consistent with the 519 gsm weight and makes this a strong choice for upholstery. The fabric has a 138 cm usable width, with 0 cm vertical and horizontal pattern repeats, so the even texture can be positioned without matching a design. Light catches the small loops gently, keeping the overall effect restrained and smart.

How to use it

Use this cool, deep charcoal on a tailored sofa or reading chair where its nubby surface can soften the severity of a near-black shade. Pair it with pale timber, warm ivory or brushed metal for contrast.

Its deep charcoal tone and compact bouclé texture suit tailored sofas, occasional chairs and understated contemporary upholstery.

Paint that goes with it

Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
