Chamonix Aubergine
Chamonix Fabric309
Chamonix Aubergine is a deep, velvet-like plum shade with a near-black depth that gives the swatch a quiet, enveloping feel. Its surface reads softly mottled in the light, adding subtle texture to an otherwise plain design.

About this fabric
Part of the Chamonix collection by J Brown, this plain fabric is woven in 62% polyester and 38% cotton, with a 35,000 Martindale rub count and a Heavy Domestic usage rating. The colour is a very dark aubergine with plum and wine undertones, sitting close to charcoal in low light but revealing a richer purple edge when it catches the light. The visible finish is smooth and softly napped rather than shiny, which helps the shade feel dense and luxurious. Supplied back coated to Cigarette & Match to BS5852, it is also suitable where practical domestic performance is needed. Professional dry clean in situ is recommended, with further care guidance available in the pattern book.
How to use it
Use this colourway on a sofa, headboard or dining chairs where you want a dark, elegant anchor. It pairs well with warm neutrals, brass accents and pale stone tones that lift its depth.
A rich, cocooning tone that works beautifully on tailored upholstery or statement cushions.

Pairs well with
Chamonix Aubergine is a quiet cloth, so it carries a pattern beside it: one of these on the curtains and this on the chair. Mixed across the houses we hold, which is the part a single supplier's book cannot do.

Paint that goes with it
Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
