Chamonix Ebony

Chamonix Fabric315

Chamonix Ebony is a near-black plain with a soft, low-sheen surface and a tightly woven look that reads refined rather than glossy. The colour is an inky ebony, with tiny flecks of lighter yarn giving the cloth quiet depth.

About this fabric

This colourway from the Chamonix collection shows a very dark ebony tone with a subtly mottled weave, so the surface catches the light in fine specks rather than a flat block of black. It is composed of 62% polyester and 38% cotton, and carries a 35,000 martindale rating for heavy domestic use. Supplied back coated to Cigarette & Match to BS5852, it is a practical choice where a smart, dark finish is needed. Professional dry clean in situ is advised, with further care guidance available in the pattern book.

How to use it

Use this shade to anchor a scheme with pale timbers, brushed metal and stone, or to add crisp contrast to linen and chalky neutrals. Its dark, understated texture works especially well on tailored sofas, dining chairs and headboards where a clean silhouette matters.

A deep black plain with subtle texture, ideal for sleek, tailored upholstery.

Paint that goes with it

Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
