About this fabric

This colourway has a deep black base with a smoky, textured appearance and discreet golden-brown speckling that gives it more dimension than a flat black. Woven in 100% polyester and designed for contract use, it offers a hard-wearing 80,000 Martindale, making it well suited to busy interiors. The fabric is supplied back coated to Cigarette & Match to BS5852, with other treatments available on request, and after care includes professional dry clean in situ or washing at 40°C, subject to the pattern book instructions. Its tonal variation keeps the surface from reading harsh, giving it a slightly softened, lived-in depth.

How to use it

Use Modena Black on structured chairs, banquettes or panels where the mottled finish can catch the light and stop the colour feeling flat. It pairs especially well with warm timber, brass details and pale neutrals for a sharper, contemporary contrast.
