Mitford Weave Rubient

Damask FabricZOF0155-04

Mitford Weave Rubient brings a deep aubergine-plum ground to an ornate Damask design, with warm brown tonal detailing defining its dense floral pattern. The close tonal contrast gives the swatch a moody, antique depth rather than a bright jewel-like finish.

About this fabric

This 295gsm textile has a richly detailed damask arrangement of curling foliage, paisley-like forms, floral medallions and small diamond lattice motifs. In the Rubient colourway, the pattern shifts between deep plum and softened brown-purple, so the design emerges subtly while remaining highly decorative. The dense construction is specified at 400 threads per cm, giving the surface a closely worked appearance suited to both upholstery and drapery. Its 94cm vertical repeat and 72.5cm horizontal repeat should be considered when positioning the large symmetrical motifs.

How to use it

Pair the aubergine-plum ground with dark wood, aged brass and warm neutrals for a layered, atmospheric scheme. On a reading chair, ottoman or lined curtain, the sizeable damask repeat can act as the room’s principal decorative note.

Use this rich aubergine damask on a statement chair, headboard or full-length curtains where its ornate pattern can be appreciated.

Paint that goes with it

Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
