About this fabric

This plain from the Carrera collection by J Brown is woven in 100% polyester and specified for contract use, with an impressive 80,000 Martindale for hard-wearing performance. The swatch reads as a muted plum with cool violet undertones, broken up by fine crosswise slubs and a lightly reflective finish that gives the surface gentle movement. It is supplied back coated to Cigarette & Match to BS5852, with other treatments available on request, and can be professionally cleaned in situ or washed at 40℃ according to the pattern book. The overall effect is smart and upholstered rather than airy, with enough depth to suit a scheme that needs colour without high brightness.

How to use it

Use Carrera Plum on an occasional chair, banquette or headboard where the plum tone can provide depth against pale woods, chalky neutrals or smoky grey walls. Its cooler violet cast also pairs well with brushed metal and dark timber for a more tailored look.
