About this fabric

This colourway sits between blue-green and forest, but in the image it leans into a smoky storm teal rather than a bright jewel tone. The velvet surface shows a subtle directional sheen, so the shade softens and deepens as the light moves across it. It is a practical upholstery velvet with a 100,000 Martindale rub test and contract/general domestic suitability, while the 137cm width makes it straightforward for both upholstery and curtains. The composition of 60% polyester, 28% recycled polyester, 8% acrylic and 4% viscose gives it a refined, resilient handle, and the plain repeat keeps the look calm and uninterrupted.

How to use it

Use Storm on a sofa, armchair or fixed headboard when you want a darker teal that feels tailored rather than flashy. It also works beautifully as full-length curtains against pale walls, where the cool green-blue tone will read especially rich.

A rich, versatile velvet that brings depth and a polished finish to seating or curtains.

Paint that goes with it

Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
