Newill Lemon

Melsetter Fabric & Weaves FabricMOF0123-01

Newill Lemon brings a softly lit lemon-yellow ground to an intricate field of curling stems, small flowers, birds and rounded botanical medallions. Fine coral, sage, blue and ochre details give the pale base a gently varied, hand-drawn appearance.

About this fabric

The design is visibly dense, with winding lines linking tiny blooms, leafy sprays, berries, birds and circular floral forms across the lemon background. Its warm yellow tone is light rather than saturated, while coral and ochre accents add warmth and muted blue-green marks create depth. At 252 gsm with 38 threads per cm, this is a substantial mid-weight fabric suited to both drapery and lighter upholstery applications. The 130 cm usable width accommodates the 91 cm vertical repeat and 130 cm horizontal repeat, making the full scrolling arrangement an important part of its visual effect.

How to use it

Pair the soft lemon ground with warm ivory, pale sage and natural timber for a light, collected scheme, or use the coral details to add carefully judged colour in cushions and trim. Its detailed repeat would suit relaxed curtains as well as a statement chair or bench in a bright sitting room.

Use this softly coloured botanical pattern to bring gentle character to curtains, occasional upholstery or a reading-room chair.

Paint that goes with it

Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
