About this fabric

This 83% cotton, 17% polyester velvet is 134 cm wide, with a 60 cm vertical pattern repeat and a 134 cm horizontal repeat. The design is arranged in strong vertical stripes, alternating large diamond medallions with narrower bands of stepped, angular motifs. Its plum and olive palette reads earthy and cool in the darker grounds, while ochre and rust details add warmth; the close view also shows the softly brushed texture catching light across the pile. Suitable for curtains, loose upholstery, fixed upholstery and bedspreads, it has a 9,000 Wyzenbeek Wire Mesh rub test.

How to use it

Use the plum grounds as a dramatic upholstery colour on a statement chair or headboard, balancing the olive bands with warm timber, aged brass and ochre accents. The vertical layout can also give curtains a strong architectural rhythm, while the repeat suits coordinated bedspreads.

A richly patterned plum and olive velvet suited to statement upholstery, curtains and bedspreads.

Paint that goes with it

Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
