Belsay purple
Diffusion Fabricbelsay/fa1/hea
Belsay Purple shows a loose botanical trail of blossom and fine branching stems across a pale ground. The lilac, violet and whisper-blue petals keep the design light and airy rather than heavy.

About this fabric
This fabric is woven in 95% cotton and 5% linen, with a usable width of 140cm and a weight of 230gsm, giving it enough substance for curtains, blinds and soft furnishings. The printed pattern repeat is a generous 70cm horizontal by 60cm vertical, which suits the expansive, branching floral layout visible in the swatch. In this colourway, the flowers read as soft lilac, periwinkle and muted violet with small flashes of yellow, all set against a calm off-white ground. The overall effect is fresh and relaxed, with the grey-green stems adding a slightly painterly, natural feel. It is iron safe and dry clean only, and there are no fire-retardant features noted.
How to use it
Use Belsay Purple in a light-filled room where the pale ground can lift the scheme and the lilac tones can sit against linen, misty grey or washed wood. It works well for full-length curtains or blinds when you want a gentle floral statement without darkening the space.
Pair with pale timber and chalky neutrals to let the lilac blossom tones stay airy and fresh.

A pattern needs somewhere for the eye to rest, so these are the plains and textures that sit beside Belsay purple without fighting it. Mixed across the houses we hold, which is the part a single supplier's book cannot do.

Paint that goes with it
Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
