Dorton Truffle

Dorton Velvets VelvetSAF0312-24

Dorton Truffle is a quietly luxurious plain velvet with a soft, chalky surface and a warm taupe-brown tone. The pile catches the light gently, giving the colourway a deeper truffle shade in the shadows and a lighter mushroom warmth where it reflects.

About this fabric

This colourway reads as a muted truffle taupe, with brown and grey notes that keep it grounded and versatile rather than overtly golden. The velvet surface has a subtle, even nap that gives the cloth a soft tonal shift across the swatch, adding depth without pattern. With a usable width of 148 cm and a substantial weight of 405 gsm, it is a strong choice for upholstery and other structured soft-furnishing projects. The plain design and 0 cm pattern repeats make it straightforward to cut and match, while the 102 threads per cm specification suggests a dense, polished construction.

How to use it

Use it on tailored armchairs, sofas or a banquette to add warmth without darkening a room too much. It pairs especially well with oak, bronze and stone finishes, where the truffle tone feels rich and understated.

A refined neutral that brings depth to seating without feeling heavy.

Paint that goes with it

Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
