About this fabric

This colourway has a soft, earthy taupe cast that reads warmer than a cool grey, with the velvet pile subtly lifting the tone where the light catches it. As part of Sanderson’s Dorton Velvets collection, it is a substantial fabric at 405gsm with a usable width of 148cm, making it well suited to upholstered pieces that need body and drape in the hand. The plain surface and zero pattern repeat keep the focus on the depth of colour and the plush nap rather than any motif. With 102 threads per cm, it has a finely worked, closely woven feel beneath the velvet finish.

How to use it

Use this tawny taupe on a sofa, armchair or banquette where you want a neutral that still feels warm and dressed. It pairs especially well with oak, dark timber and muted green accents.

A refined neutral velvet that brings quiet warmth to tailored upholstery.

Paint that goes with it

Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
