Newby Green

2026 Paint PaintSAP1101-42

Newby Green is a poised blue-green with a slate note, from Sanderson's 2026 Paint range. It has enough depth to feel settled, but it still reads clearly as colour on the wall.

About this colour

This shade sits in the darker end of the green family, with blue in the mix that keeps it cool and slightly formal. In north-facing light it will look more reserved and shadowed, bringing out the steely side of the colour; in south-facing rooms it opens a little and shows more of its green character without becoming bright. On walls it absorbs a fair amount of light, so it works best where you want depth rather than reflection. In Active Emulsion or Waterbased Eggshell, it has a smooth, tailored look that suits timber joinery, painted cabinetry and panelled rooms. It sits well beside warm oak, walnut, brushed brass and upholstery in claret, taupe, stone or faded indigo.

How to use it

Use Newby Green in a study, dining room or hallway where you want the walls to feel composed and grounded. It pairs well with painted woodwork in softer off-whites, or with deeper trim and upholstery in brown leather, deep red or muted checks.

A deep blue-green that brings a calm, tailored depth to the wall.
