About this fabric

This Sanderson fabric has a usable width of 137 cm and a substantial 260 gsm weight, so it sits comfortably in the mid-weight range for both upholstery and drapery. The pattern repeat is a striking 73.5 cm vertically and 137 cm horizontally, which suits the large, sweeping motif and helps the design read clearly across bigger pieces. In this colourway the red ground feels bright and lacquer-like rather than dark or muted, while the gold paths, small green accents and pale figures add contrast and keep the pattern crisp. The overall effect is richly ornamental, with a smooth printed surface appearance that feels more celebratory than subdued.

How to use it

Use it on an accent chair, ottoman or curtains where the red ground can bring warmth and drama to the room. It works especially well with deep walnut, black lacquer, brass and pared-back ivory fabrics.

Use with quiet neutrals or deep lacquered woods to let the red and gold motif take centre stage.

Paint that goes with it

Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
