Colefax and Fowler

Newland Sienna

Medora FabricF4790-02

Newland Sienna is a tightly woven small-scale pattern in warm sienna and cream, giving the surface a softly mottled, handcrafted feel. The repeating motif reads crisp but relaxed, with the terracotta ground warming the paler highlights.

About this fabric

This Colefax and Fowler fabric is woven in a blend of 40% viscose, 19% acrylic, 16% cotton, 11% linen, 10% wool and 4% polyester, creating a cloth with a dry, lightly textured handle and enough substance for versatile use. The repeat is approximately V 3cm / H 2cm, so the geometric pattern stays fine and orderly across the width. In this colourway, the sienna threads sit over a lighter base to produce a sunbaked, earthy tone that feels richer than a simple rust and softer than a true red. At approximately 142cm wide, it offers a practical scale for upholstery or drapery alike, and the restrained sheen of the viscose keeps the surface from looking flat.

How to use it

Use Newland Sienna to add warmth to an upholstered chair, banquette or headboard, where the small pattern will read as texture from a distance. It also works beautifully as curtains in a room with natural woods, plaster tones or aged brass, bringing a grounded terracotta note without overwhelming the scheme.

A warm, textural small-scale weave that brings easy richness to seating or curtains.

Paint that goes with it

Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
