Bantry Brick

Magnus Checks FabricF4240-13

Bantry Brick shows the Magnus Checks pattern in a warm, muted brick tone with a fine herringbone-like check effect. The close weave gives the surface a dry, tailored look rather than a glossy finish.

About this fabric

Bantry Brick from the Magnus Checks collection by Colefax and Fowler is a 141cm-wide fabric composed of 45% viscose, 35% cotton, 16% linen and 4% polyester. The check is tiny and regular, with a vertical repeat of 0cm and an approximate horizontal repeat of 2cm, creating a disciplined, quietly classic surface. In this colourway, the brick terracotta reading is softened with brown and dusty rose undertones, so it feels warmer than a true red but deeper than a neutral clay. The weave catches the light subtly across the herringbone texture, giving the cloth a dry, lightly textured finish that suits both soft furnishing and upholstery schemes.

How to use it

Use Bantry Brick on an armchair, banquette or headboard where its small-scale check can add warmth without overwhelming the room. It pairs especially well with oatmeal linens, aged tan leather and dark timber for a grounded, tailored palette.

Pairs well with warm wood, leather and crisp neutrals for a tailored, inviting scheme.

Pairs well with

A pattern needs somewhere for the eye to rest, so these are the plains and textures that sit beside Bantry Brick without fighting it. Mixed across the houses we hold, which is the part a single supplier's book cannot do.

Paint that goes with it

Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
